Volunteer Spotlight
Bea Johnson
As The Community Kitchen prepares to celebrate the anniversary of its first 20
years of service, we do have some faithful volunteers who have been with The Kitchen since it started. One of those we can honor is the
First Baptist Church's Bea Johnson.
Orignally coaxed into preparing food for us by Ruby Hodgin, whose service is deeply missed, Bea is now First Baptist's Team Leader and Point-of-Contact for all Kitchen activities.
She has served on The Kitchen Board of Directors, and is normally at The Kitchen on the third Friday of each month, when it is her church's turn to get the meal ready.
Bea also makes time for other church-related activities and is a volunteer at the Hospice of North Iowa. Her paster, Ron Stein, says, "We
rely on Bea Heavily for many things. She is one of those people who spreads God's Love around to those in need."
We thank Bea Johnson for 20 great years of growth and service to The Community Kitchen and her neighhbors who are hungry.
She has helped set the standards for the next 20 years.
