Measured Thoughts
by Amanda Ragan
Of all the adjectives used to describe The Community Kitchen, the one which most comes to my mind is--miraculous.
That is the best modifier I know of for our organization, day in, year out.
For example, in 2001 we served hungry people 76,333 meals--21% more than we did in 2000. Miraculous.
Plus, we wre able to meet this much increased demand for our services within the budget we had outlined at
the befinning of the year, miraculous
Last year we had more offers from individuals and group volunteers to cook and serve these many extra meals than we have ever had in our history. It was
miraculous how people knew we needed their help and support. Speaking of history, this year your Community Kitchen will begin its 20th year of meeting the
hunger concerns of our fellow citizens.
To all the volunteers, churches, schools, civic groups, businesses, service clubs, philanthropic foundations, county,
state, and federal government agenices and grantors, who support our mission year after year, your steadfastness is Miraculous.
We couldn't do what we do without each and every one of you. Thank you so very much.
